How to Make an Xbox Account on the Web ?
In addition to creating Xbox accounts on an Xbox console, you can also create and manage an account on the official Xbox website. This method can be easier as you’ll be able to enter information with a keyboard and mouse on your computer as opposed to an Xbox controller. You can also do this before setting up your new Xbox console so that, once you do, you can quickly sign into it with your new account.
Here’s how to create an Xbox account on the Xbox website.
1. Open your preferred web browser and go to the official Xbox website.
2. Click the empty profile icon in the top-right corner.
3. Click Create one.
4. Enter your email address.
5. Click Next.
6. Enter a password for your Xbox account.
7. Enter your first and last name.
8. Click Next.
9. Select your country or region from the drop-down menu and enter your birth date.
10. Click Next.
11. You will now be sent a confirmation email to the email address you provided. Enter the code in the email and click Next.
12. Complete the security question and click Next.
13. Click I Accept. Your Xbox account will now be created and you’ll automatically be logged in on the website.
You can now use your Xbox account’s login information to log in on your Xbox console and any of the Xbox apps.
Do You Need a New Xbox Account ?
You may not need to make a new account for the following reasons:
• You can edit almost all information associated with your Xbox account including your name and Gamer tag. You don’t need to make a new account to change either.
• Xbox accounts can be used on multiple consoles and devices. The same Xbox account you used on the Xbox 360 can still be used on the Xbox One, Xbox One S, Xbox One X, and Xbox Series X consoles. There’s no need to make a new account every time you buy a new console.
You can make as many new Xbox accounts as you want, but it’s important to remember that game progress cannot be transferred between Xbox accounts.
How to Fix It When Xbox One Won't Read a Disc ?
An Xbox One not reading a disc can be frustrating
It can be a show stopper when an Xbox console such as an Xbox One stops reading discs. This issue isn’t limited to just video games though as sometimes an Xbox console just won’t read discs with music or movies on them either.
Why Is Your Xbox One Not Reading the Disc?
Issues with detecting or reading a disc on an Xbox console can be caused by a variety of issues ranging from a damaged disc or a software error to old hardware that’s simply reached its end of life.
Note : These solutions apply to the Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X.
How to Fix Xbox Disc Errors ?
Here’s all of the best solutions for getting a disc to work on an Xbox console organized from simple to most advanced. If possible, work your way through this list in order as often the easiest solution is the one that will work the quickest.
1. Try another disc. The first thing you should do is see if the problem is with the disc or your Xbox console. The fastest way to do this is to simply insert another disc, if you have one, and see if you encounter the same problem.
2. Check the DVD or Blu-ray region. While Xbox One video game discs are region-free, the consoles are still region locked when it comes to TV series and movie DVDs and Blu-rays.
3. Check the Xbox game generation. The Xbox One console does support a large number of video games from the original (OG) Xbox and Xbox 360 generations but they don’t support all of them. Can you put Xbox 360 discs in Xbox One consoles? Yes, but they’re not guaranteed to work. You can check which games support this on the Xbox One backwards compatibility list.
4. Is the disc the actual Xbox game disc? Some special collector’s edition versions of Xbox video games can come with a bonus disc with additional content that’s meant to be consumed on a computer. Be careful not to insert this bonus disc into your Xbox One console instead of the game disc.
5. Clean the game disc. It’s very easy for dirt and grime to find their way onto an Xbox game disc, especially if you or your family frequently switch games.
6. Repair the Xbox game disc. If your Xbox disc has scratches on it, you can actually fix it.
7. Eject a disc from an Xbox One with a pin. If you can't get the disc out of your Xbox console, you can force an eject by inserting a pin or paperclip into the small hole found on the left side of the Xbox One, Xbox One S, and Xbox One X.
8. Update your Xbox console. Performing a system update can fix a variety of bugs associated to video game and media playback. To do this, press the Xbox button on your controller to open the Guide and go to Profile & system > Settings > System > Updates. You will need to be connected to the internet to do this.
9. Restart your Xbox console. Much like with a computer, restarting an Xbox console can fix a variety of bugs and glitches. The process should only take around 30 seconds. If that doesn't work, you could also perform a full reset mentioned in the same article. Make sure to choose Reset and keep my games & apps. This will reset all of the system files and will keep all of your data and games on the console.
Note : As a last resort, perform a system reset and choose the Reset and remove everything option. This will completely delete everything from your Xbox console and return it to its factory settings. Only do this when you have no other options.
10 . Rotate your Xbox console. All Xbox One consoles can be positioned vertically and horizontally. Try changing the orientation of the console to see if that improves the disc reading function.
11. Check for manufacturer errors. The fastest way to check for this is to find the official Twitter account of the developer and see if they’ve posted about manufacturer errors or discs giving users errors. If the game is new, you’ll often be able to request a replacement disc.
12. Get your Xbox console repaired. Depending on your warrantee, Microsoft may repair or completely replace your Xbox One console for free. You can see if your console is eligible on the official Xbox Support website.
How to Fix the Xbox One 'No Signal' Error ?
The Xbox One ‘No Signal’ error refers to when a TV won’t display an Xbox One (or One S or One X) console’s signal even though both the television and console are turned on and all of the proper cables are connected.
Some TV models may display ‘No Signal’ or ‘No Signal Detected’ as an on-screen text warning while others may show static or a blank screen.
Causes for an Xbox One HDMI Not Working
An Xbox One ‘No Signal Detected’ type of error can often be caused by a minor glitch in the console’s hardware or operating system after an update. The Xbox One HDMI not working properly can also be an issue as can basic human error when it comes to connecting the right cables to the correct ports.
How to Fix Xbox One No Signal Errors ?
Here are all of the best, and proven, solutions for when your TV won’t detect your Xbox One console. Each fix is listed by difficulty and it’s recommended to work through them in order.
1. Is your Xbox One turned on? Sometimes the Xbox’s wireless controllers can disconnect from the console and can just turn themselves on when the Xbox logo button is pushed. Check to see if the Xbox logo on the Xbox One console is lit up. If it’s not, press it to manually power on your console.
2. Check the HDMI inputs. Many televisions have numerous HDMI ports for Blu-ray players, video game consoles, and other media devices and it can be easy to get them mixed up. It can also be easy to accidentally switch to the incorrect HDMI channel if you bump or drop your TV remote. Try cycling through the different HDMI sources to see if you’re just on the wrong channel.
3. Check the HDMI cable and connections. The HDMI cable may have become disconnected from the rear of your Xbox One console or the TV. Take a look to see if it’s become loose and firmly push each end into its respective port.
4. Try a different HDMI port. It’s entirely possible that an HDMI port on your TV could be broken or damaged. If you have additional HDMI ports on your television model, try plugging the HDMI cable into each of them to see if they work.
5. Check the Xbox One power brick. If you have an original Xbox One model, not an Xbox One S or Xbox One X, you likely would have noticed the external power brick that connects the console to the power socket on your wall. The LED light on the brick should be white if it’s working properly. If it’s orange or red, disconnect the brick from your console and your wall, wait five minutes, plug it in again, and then turn your Xbox One on as per usual.
6. Power cycle your Xbox One console. A basic power cycle or hard reset can fix a massive number of Xbox One errors and bugs and it only takes a minute or two to complete.
7. Clean your Xbox One console. Dust can build up very quickly in Xbox consoles near the air vents. This can cause overheating and problems such as the ‘No Signal Detected’ error. If you have one, use an air gun to blast the dust out of the way. An everyday vacuum cleaner can also work.
8. Launch your Xbox One in Low-Resolution Mode. Press the Power button for 10 seconds until you hear a beep, wait 30 seconds, then press the Power and Eject buttons together for 15 seconds or until you hear another beep. Your Xbox One will now power on with its lowest possible resolution settings. This may bypass whatever glitch was giving you the ‘No Signal’ error.
Note : If this works, you should follow this up by opening the Guide and going to Settings > Display & sound > Video output to experiment with higher resolutions and see which setting works best with your TV.
9. Try another TV. If you have another television, try connecting your console to it to see if it also gives you an Xbox One ‘No Signal Detected’ error. If it doesn’t, your original TV may be damaged. If it does, it’s likely that your Xbox One console may be damaged and in need of repair.
10. Get your Xbox console repaired or replaced. As a last resort, you may be able to get Microsoft to repair or even replace your Xbox One console for free if your warrantee is still valid. You can check if your console is still eligible for repair or replacement on the official Xbox Support website.
